The questions every client asks, answered the way we'd answer them on the phone. Anything missing? Ask us directly.

Working with us

Do we need to be on the Gold Coast?

No - most of our clients aren’t, and plenty are overseas. Twenty years of remote delivery means everything runs on phone calls, staging URLs and written quotes. If you are local, we’re happy to meet in person.

How does pricing work?

Fixed quotes, in writing, before work starts. Projects are scoped on a free call, quoted within 48 hours, and the number on the quote is the number on the invoice. Ongoing support and maintenance run as flat monthly arrangements. We don’t bill hourly - hourly billing rewards slowness.

Who actually does the work?

The people you talk to. We’re a small senior team - no offshore handoffs, no account managers relaying messages, no juniors learning on your project.

How fast can you start?

The scope call usually happens within a couple of days, the quote within 48 hours of that, and most projects start within a week or two of acceptance. Urgent rescues (a broken store, a security incident) jump the queue - call rather than email for those.

What are your payment terms?

A deposit to book the work, the balance on completion for smaller projects, or staged against milestones for larger ones. Details are on every quote, and there are no surprises between the quote and the invoice.

Projects & platforms

Which platforms do you work on?

Shopify (including Plus), Magento / Adobe Commerce, WooCommerce and BigCommerce on the store side; Astro, WordPress and Laravel for sites and applications; and the integration layer around them - Xero, MYOB, NetSuite, 3PLs, and payment providers. Platform advice is free and platform-neutral: we build on all of them, so the recommendation follows your case.

Can you take over a project another developer built?

Yes - it’s a large share of our work. We start with an audit so you know what you’re sitting on, stabilise anything urgent, and go from there. No sniping about the previous developer.

Do you offer ongoing support?

Yes, and most clients take it: a flat monthly arrangement covering updates, monitoring, small fixes and a developer who already knows your setup. Some clients just call when they need something - that works too.

Will we be locked in to you?

No. Everything we build lives in your accounts - hosting, domains, repositories, platforms - and is documented so any competent developer could take over. Lock-in is a business model; it isn’t ours.

The AI part

How do you actually use AI?

For the repetitive layers of development - scaffolding, imports, boilerplate, first drafts - which is what makes small-team, fixed-price delivery possible at this speed. Judgement calls, architecture, security and anything customer-facing stay with experienced humans. We also build AI systems for clients: assistants, automations and marketing pipelines, always on the client’s own accounts.

Is our business data safe in AI systems you build?

The systems we build run on your own business-tier OpenAI or Anthropic accounts with training on your data turned off. Your documents stay in your storage, access follows your team’s permissions, and you can walk away with everything intact.

Will AI-generated content hurt our SEO?

Thin, unreviewed AI content will. Google’s position is that it rewards helpful content however it’s made - so our marketing systems draft with AI, ground everything in your actual business, and put a human approval step in front of publishing. Fewer, better pieces beat volume.
