How we collect, use and protect personal information. Last updated July 2026.

Who we are

Gold Coast Ecommerce Web Development ("we", "us") is an Australian web development business based on the Gold Coast, Queensland. We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

  • Enquiry details - name, email address, phone number and project information you submit through our enquiry form or provide by phone or email.
  • Client project information - access credentials, business data and content you provide so we can deliver contracted work.
  • Website analytics - anonymised usage data (pages visited, device type, approximate location) collected through analytics tools to understand how the site is used.

How we use it

  • To respond to enquiries and provide quotes.
  • To deliver and support the services you engage us for.
  • To improve our website and services.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not add you to marketing lists without your consent.

Form submissions

Enquiry form submissions are delivered to us by a third-party form processing service and arrive as email. The information you submit is used solely to respond to your enquiry.

Client data and AI tools

Where projects involve AI tooling, client business data is processed through business-tier services configured so that data is not used to train AI models. Client systems we build run in the client's own accounts, under the client's control.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls and credential management appropriate to a development business. Client credentials are stored securely and access is limited to the people working on your project.

Access and correction

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@sydneyecommerce.com.au.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, contact us first and we'll work to resolve it. You may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

This policy is provided as a general statement of our practices and should be reviewed by the business owner before publication.
